Read the Chart by Shape, Not Just Color.
Sectional charts assume you can separate magenta from blue, red from green. Plenty of pilots cannot, and many find out during the exam. The Color Clue Card teaches you to read the clue instead: shapes, patterns, labels, and numbers that identify airspace and symbols even when color tells you nothing.
The Exam Changed. Color Is Now the Trap.
From October 26, 2026, the Part 107 exam pulls chart questions from current sectional charts you have never seen. Memorizing the supplement figures no longer works, and neither does leaning on color.
Our Flight Lab was built Shape-First for exactly this: every symbol, boundary, and airport on a sectional also carries a shape, a pattern, or a label that gives it away. The Color Clue Card is the printable field version of that method, the same one our color-safe chart lab trains interactively.
What You Will Be Able to Read Cold
Airports and Airspace
Towered vs non-towered from the data block, Class B, C, D, and E from boundary shapes and ceiling figures, and the 700 and 1,200 foot vignettes explained for a drone at 400 feet.
Routes, Areas, and Terrain
Prohibited, restricted, warning, MOA, and alert areas by label, military training routes by their IR and VR digits, Victor airways, obstacles, MEF, and terrain contours, none of it dependent on tint.
Night and Low Light
Beacon, PAPI and VASI, runway and taxiway lighting: what each light pattern means and how position and flash pattern identify it when color washes out.
