About Us

Real People. Real Flight Line.

Quantum Dynamics is not a content farm or a call center. We are a small, veteran-owned crew of working aviators, instructors, and operators in Oregon, and this is who answers when you reach out.

The People Behind the Academy

Sean McKay Holt

Co-Founder · Lead Instructor

U.S. Navy veteran (Naval Coastal Warfare) and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy graduate. Sean served in DHS/TSA after 9/11, worked as an ABS marine surveyor and ISO auditor, and volunteers in search and rescue; he co-established Task Force Almeda to put unmanned systems to work in wildfire and disaster response. He has personally trained more than 1,500 professionals to Part 107 certification and leads instruction across the academy.

Mark Gibson

Co-Founder

Principal owner of Timberland Helicopters and former chairman of Helicopter Association International. Mark has spent his career in professional crewed aviation, running utility, fire, and patrol operations to a standard that has kept Timberland flying since 1984. He anchors Quantum Dynamics in that world: real aircraft, real missions, real accountability.

CN

Chad Nelson

Flight Operations

Former tug deckhand and deck engineer with A&P technician training and OSHA 30. Chad has directed operations for a U.S. unmanned aviation services company and leads QD flight operations: the crews, the aircraft, and the standard every job flies to.
